Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome
Around 10% of Lyme disease patients continue have physical discomfort and cognitive impairments after completing antibiotic treatment. People who have had Lyme disease can develop post-Lyme disease syndrome, also known as post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome. These terms can be used interchangeably. PTLDS' pathophysiology has aroused controversy. After antibiotic treatment, it's impossible to envisage people with PTLDS harbouring secret Borrelia burgdorferi reservoirs.
