#demystifying statistics
In this example we can see the following
1. Variable: A characteristic or attribute that can take different values
in the data set: Gender, Age, Volume harvested, Variety, Land
owned, etc
2. Observations: These are values under each variable. For isntance
the variable gender can take two observations(Male, Females),
the Volumes harvested can take various observations depending
on each farmer
From here we note that data can be either quantitative or qualitative. data (a variable) is quantitative (quantity) if we can quantify the observation by numbers. E.g. Volumes of Irish Potato harvested: we can quantify the number of bags then this is a quantitative data under this variable.

Now you can tell the nature of data under the variable gender, Variety, and total land owned. If you can not please inbox me.

Data refers to any collection of facts, numbers, or observations that can be analyzed and used to draw conclusions or make decisions. Data can be in the form of numbers, words, or images, and can be collected from a variety of sources such as surveys, experiments, observations, or sensors.

Data can be categorized into two main types: qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data consists of non-numeric information such as opinions, descriptions, or categories. Quantitative data, on the other hand, consists of numeric measurements such as length, weight, or temperature.

Raw data by itself is usually not very useful. It needs to be processed and analyzed to extract meaningful insights and patterns. This is where statistical methods and tools come into play, helping to make sense of large amounts of data and uncover hidden trends and relationships.

#demystifying Statistics

In the following couple of days we shall demystify statistics as laymans in mathematics.
First and foremost what is statistic?
Statistics is a branch of mathematics that deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of numerical data. It involves the use of various methods and techniques to summarize and make sense of data, and to draw conclusions and make predictions based on the data. In general, statistics is used to study and understand patterns and relationships within data sets, and to make inferences or predictions about populations based on samples of data. It is used in a wide variety of fields, including business, finance, healthcare, social sciences, and more.

THE KEY WORD IN THIS DEFINITION IS "DATA". WHAT IS DATA?

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AGRICULTURE AND AGRIBUSINESS

Agriculture and agribusiness are two related but distinct concepts. Agriculture refers to the practice of cultivating crops, rearing and managing livestock, and tillage, while Agribusiness is a big business connected to agriculture, either owning or operating large-scale farms, or catering to those. While agriculture is the study of business that is involved in the agricultural industries, Agribusiness involves the production, processing, marketing, and use of foods, fibers, and byproducts from plants, crops, and animals.
In summary, agriculture is primarily concerned with the practice of cultivating crops, rearing and managing livestock, and tillage, while Agribusiness is a more expansive concept that involves the business side of agriculture, including production, processing, marketing, and use of agricultural products.

WHAT IS THINKING DAY FOR SCOUTISM ?

Thinking Day is an annual celebration observed by the Scouting and Guiding movement on February 22nd, the joint birthday of the founder of the Boy Scouts, Robert Baden-Powell, and his wife Olave Baden-Powell, who was involved in the founding of the Girl Guides. The day is an opportunity for Scouts and Guides around the world to think about their fellow members and reaffirm their commitment to the Scout and Guide Promise.

Thinking Day was first celebrated in 1926, and it was originally known as "B.-P. Day" in honor of Robert Baden-Powell. It was later renamed "Thinking Day" in 1932, and the date was changed to February 22nd to include Olave Baden-Powell's birthday.

On Thinking Day, Scouts and Guides typically participate in activities and events that focus on international friendship, understanding, and awareness. These may include cultural exchanges, service projects, and educational activities related to other countries and cultures. The day also provides an opportunity for Scouts and Guides to donate to the World Friendship Fund, which supports Scouting and Guiding programs in developing countries.
